I’m picky about resorts – I’ve been called a “resort critic” by people who know me well. It’s a rare occasion that I stay at a resort and LOVE virtually everything about it. That was the case when I stayed at the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica, shortly after it opened last year.
The property was formerly owned by Ritz Carlton, but when Hyatt purchased the property, they added significantly to the size and scope of the resort. It’s gorgeous! All of the existing rooms were renovated, and many new rooms were added on.
I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms, but I was also able to tour through some of the newly added rooms. Although there were some “finishing touches” being applied, the resort was sparkling. The pools were spotless, the grounds were beautiful, and the restaurants were fantastic! I’ve eaten at more resorts than I can remember, and these restaurants stand out as being some of the very best. Three of the restaurants are exclusive to guests at the Hyatt Zilara, but Zilara guests also have full access to the restaurants at the Hyatt Ziva, which is right next door.
This is a perfect destination for a girls getaway, and January is a perfect time to get away from the ice and snow. Feel the Caribbean breeze in your hair and the sand beneath your toes! So, round up your friends and come celebrate in Jamaica!
